False. The circulating image has been confirmed to be a fabrication. Verification tools and expert analysis indicate that the content was generated using artificial intelligence.

Investigation and Findings

On December 22, 2025, a user named Daniel Daba, who has over 8,240 followers on X, posted an image showing ballistic missiles adorned with the Ethiopian flag, captioning it “Ethiopian Air Force today.”(See screenshot below).

MFC analyzed the image using manual and tool-based methods to test its authenticity.

Manual Analysis

The image shows logos on the wall and on the missiles. These logos do not belong to the Ethiopian Air Force. (See screenshots below).

The image also contains multiple text errors. Such errors are common in AI-generated images. They include spelling mistakes and unidentified characters (Review the visual evidence provided below).

Further analysis revealed that the image featured a TikTok account name, oshkosh385, which has 1,157 followers. The bio of this account indicates that it specializes in “futuristic AI pictures and videos,” suggesting a focus on AI-generated content. The images and videos from this account confirmed that they are indeed artificially created (See screenshots below).

Tool-Based Analysis

In addition to manual review, MFC used the “AI or Not” detection tool. The tool’s results indicate that the images are likely AI-generated (See Screenshots below).

Context

The Ethiopian Air Force (EAF) is a key branch of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, crucial for the nation’s defense and security. Established in the 1950s, it has participated in conflicts such as the Eritrean-Ethiopian War (1998-2000) and is currently focused on modernizing its capabilities.

The EAF’s primary roles include air defense, ground support, and aerial reconnaissance, supported by a mix of fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters. Recent efforts aim to upgrade its fleet, enhance training systems, and potentially develop ballistic missile technology in response to regional security concerns.

Ongoing modernization initiatives reflect Ethiopia’s commitment to strengthening its military capabilities, ensuring readiness amidst evolving geopolitical dynamics.

Conclusion

The post claiming to showcase the Ethiopian Air Force missiles is demonstrably false. The image in question is AI-generated, and its origin can be traced back to a TikTok account specializing in artificial content. This indicates that the portrayal of the Ethiopian Air Force in the image is not genuine, and the claim lacks credibility.

Hence, after reviewing the investigation outcomes, MFC rated the claim as False. This underscores that it’s important to verify the authenticity of such claims, especially when they involve military imagery.
