Bio:

Rehobot Ayalew is an Ethiopian media professional, fact‑checker, and consultant dedicated to advancing media literacy and combating misinformation. She currently serves as a Fact‑Checker at MFC, where she applies her expertise in verification, digital research, and editorial leadership to strengthen the organization’s fact‑checking initiatives.

She is the Founder of Niqu Ethiopia Media Consultancy, leading projects on communication and digital literacy, and Training Consultant at MERSA Media Institute, leading training and mentorship programs. Her consultancy work includes collaborations with Internews, the Center for Information Resilience, Zinc Network, PACT Ethiopia and the National Democratic Institute, focusing on OSINT research, countering disinformation, digital literacy and training journalists.

Rehobot holds Master’s in Development Communication and Media Studies from the Ethiopian Civil Service University and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Ambo University. Her academic foundation, combined with her diverse professional experience, directly enhances MFC’s fact‑checking work by bringing analytical rigor, strategic communication skills, and a deep understanding of Ethiopia’s media landscape.
