Temesgen Tiruneh Dinku (b. in Bichena, Gojjam Province, Ethiopia) has been serving as Deputy Prime Minister since 8 February 2024, assisting the Prime Minister in coordinating government affairs, advancing national development priorities, and strengthening institutional leadership.
Temesgen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Microlink Information Technology College and a Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership from the University of Greenwich. He also received military intelligence training while serving in the Ethiopian National Defense Force.
His career includes senior leadership in regional and national governance. Temesgen served as Chief Administrator of the Amhara Regional State from July 2019 to November 2020 and Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) from November 2020 until his appointment as Deputy Prime Minister in February 2024. Earlier, he was Director General of the Information Network Security Agency (INSA) and held roles in national intelligence and security.
As Deputy Prime Minister, Temesgen focuses on assisting the Prime Minister in overall government coordination, policy implementation, and strengthening socio-economic development strategies, while drawing on his experience in public administration, security, and regional governance.
