Selamawit Kassa was appointed Minister of Tourism in September 2024, leading the ministry responsible for promoting Ethiopia’s tourism sector and cultural heritage.
She holds extensive experience in media and government communication. She served as Deputy Minister of Government Communication Services from 31 October 2021 and was Deputy Editor-in-Chief and TV News Host at Fana Broadcast Corporate from February 2017 to October 2021.
As Minister of Tourism, Selamawit focuses on tourism development, cultural promotion, and international engagement, advancing strategies to attract investment, enhance tourism infrastructure, and showcase Ethiopia’s heritage globally.
