Kassahun Gofe was appointed Minister of Trade and Regional Integration in 2024, leading Ethiopia’s trade policies, regional economic integration, and international commerce initiatives.
Kassahun holds a Master of Arts in Business Administration and Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Addis Ababa University.
His career spans public administration and government communications. From 2021 to 2024, he served in the infrastructure division under the State Minister for Transport and Logistics, contributing to national transport and logistics policy. In 2018, Kassahun served as State Minister for the Government Communication Affairs, later re-established as Foreign Press Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, overseeing government messaging and media engagement.
As Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, Kassahun focuses on enhancing trade facilitation, strengthening regional economic partnerships, promoting investment, and advancing Ethiopia’s integration into global markets. His leadership emphasizes economic reforms and strategic initiatives to improve trade infrastructure and international collaboration.
