Alemu Sime Feyisa has been serving as Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia since 20 January 2023, overseeing the development, modernization, and regulation of the country’s transport and logistics systems.

Alemu earned a bachelor’s degree in Management from the Ethiopian Civil Service College between 1998 and 2001. He completed a master’s degree in Development Management at Addis Ababa University from 2003 to 2005. Public profiles also reference a doctorate from Chongqing University (2010–2013).

Before his appointment as minister, Alemu served as Deputy Director of the Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC) from 26 April 2019 to January 2023, where he played a role in organizational leadership and industrial coordination.

Alemu’s career includes senior roles within political and administrative structures, contributing to national infrastructure strategies and institutional development. He is a member of the Prosperity Party and was formerly affiliated with the Oromo Democratic Party.

As Minister of Transport and Logistics, Alemu focuses on transport infrastructure modernization, freight and logistics systems reform, road safety advancement, and regional connectivity enhancement. His leadership has also extended to international engagements such as representing Ethiopia on the United Nations Road Safety Fund board and advancing initiatives in green and integrated transport systems.
