Bacha Debele was the appointed by the President as an ambassador on January 26, 2022.

Prior to his current appointment,  Bacha was a retired military figure until he rejoined the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) in November 2021. During the Tigray War that stated in November 2021, Bacha was appointed as the Chief Coordinator of Army Building Affairs of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF). He was promoted to the rank of full General in January 2022. 

Bacha was promoted to Lie. General in October 2008. Prior to being discharged in 2011, he had served as the Head of Defense Combat Engineering of the Ethiopian National Defense Force. He had also been the commander of Eastern Command of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF).
