Melaku Alebel was appointed Minister of Industry in October 2021, leading Ethiopia’s industrial development, manufacturing policies, and investment promotion in the industrial sector.
Before his current role, Melaku served as Minister of Trade and Industry and as President of the Amhara Regional State, gaining extensive experience in governance, economic management, and industrial policy development.
As Minister of Industry, Melaku focuses on industrial modernization, investment promotion, manufacturing sector development, and creating policies to boost national production and export capacity, contributing to Ethiopia’s economic growth and industrialization strategy.
