Major General Teshome Gemechu is a senior officer of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF), currently serving as Director-General of International Relations and Military Cooperation. He has been appointed to lead Ethiopia’s external military diplomacy and peacekeeping coordination.
Teshome Gemechu has been serving in this capacity within the ENDF, where he oversees Ethiopia’s military diplomacy, peacekeeping missions, and external defense relations since November 2022.
He regularly briefs military attachés and diplomats in Addis Ababa on Ethiopia’s defense policies, emphasizing the ENDF’s role in safeguarding sovereignty and promoting regional peace. He has represented Ethiopia in joint defense committee meetings with neighboring countries such as Djibouti, reinforcing military cooperation against insurgency and terrorism.
