Negash Wagesho is the President of South West Ethiopian People’s Regional State on November 2021. TheSouth West Ethiopian People’s Regional State which was officially recognized as the 11th state by the House of Federation following the September 30 referendum. 

Negash has MSc in Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering from Arba Minch University; and PhD from Roorkee Indian Institute of Technology. 

Prior to his current position, Negash was the State Minister, Ministry of Water & Energy from May 2018 -November 2021. He has also been the Head of SNNPR State Water & Irrigation Bureau from December 2016-May 2018. Negash has also been the faculty member of Arba Minch University.
