Muferiat is the Minister of Jobs and Skills since October 2021. She was the Peace from October 2018 – October 2021.

Muferiat has a BSc degree in Agriculture from Haramaya University.

Muferihat was the Public Relations Advisor to the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR) President in 2007. From 2008- 2018, she was the Minister of Women’s Affairs. In 2018, she served as the Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives before appointed to her current position. She was also the Chair of the SEPDM (Southern Ethiopian People’s Democratic Movement), one of the four coalition parties of former EPRDF, from June 2018 up until the dissolution of the party in 2019.
