Yilma Merdasa is the Commander of the Air Force of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF). Yilma was promoted to the rank of Lei. Gen. in January 2022; and to the rank of Maj. General in January 2020.

He was the head of the western region air force base before his promotion to the commander of the national Air Force.
