Asrat Denero was the head of the Military’s Community Information/Defense Intelligence Department of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF). He is currently serving as the Coordinator of the Joint Forces of Metekel Command Post. 

Asrat was promoted to the rank of Lieut. General in January 2020. Prior to his current position, he was the Commander of the Western Command.
