Lake Ayalew is the Minister of Revenues since October 2021. He has also served in same position from March 2020-October 2021. He was the Deputy President and later interim President (from June 2019-March 2020) of Amhara Regional State.

Lake was the Head of West Gojjam Zone’s Finance and Economy Bureau, and later the Administrator of West Gojjam Zone. He was also the Mayor of Bahir Dar City. Before appointed as the Vice President of the Amhara Regional State, he was the Head of the Region’s Technical Vocational & Enterprises Development Bureau.
