Agegnehu Teshager is the speaker of the House of Federation. He was appointed to the position in October 2021 by the House. 

Prior to his current position, Agegnehu was the President of the Amhara Region November 2020 – October 2021.

Agegnehu had also been the Head of Amhara Region Peace and Security Bureau, Head of Amhara Region Trade and Market Development Office, Director of Amhara Region Management Academy, and Head of North Gonder Zone Administration.
